This Adventure-Filled New Zealand Holiday Is a Sporty Girl's Dream

When founders of the athleisure label, P.E Nation, Pip EdwardsВ and Claire TregoningВ decided to create a brand that was designed to "live at a fast pace", it was based on their personal love of adventure and fun. And unlike most of the fashion-focused trips they go on, their recent skiing holiday to Wanaka, New Zealand was just that.В Touching down in Queenstown, the duo packed up their Jeep and drove to Wanaka where they spent the next four days exploring, skiing, and eating.

It's not often we find holiday suggestions for the activity-inclined, commonly we seek tour-guide worthy recommendations for coastal sojourns through Italy, but after seeing this luxury travel itinerary, we're starting to think that a skiing adventure is just what the doctor ordered.

See below for these fashion darling's favourite New Zealand places to eat, sleep, shop, and stay.

Cardrona: Sitting about an hour's drive outside of Wanaka, Cardrona is considered the most popular ski field in New Zealand. It has open runs all over the mountain with a magical skyline view at every turn. В

Treble Cone:В This is considered the South Island's largest ski area and is famous for its long uncrowded groomed runs and views over Lake Wanaka. It's a steeper mountain and is a real test of your ability. You are literally on top of the world at Treble Cone, the drive out is so breathtaking.

Soho Basin:В Soho Basin is all about unforgettable experiences. It's a private ski area that offers pristine high-country terrain, world-class views, and gourmet dining. They only take two dozen guests a day so you'll miss the crowds and experience understated luxury at its finest.

Southern Lakes Heli Ski:В I consider this a must-have experience, with 11 breathtaking mountain ranges and over 600 runs, you can heliski or heliboard alongside highly experienced guides and pilots. An experience you will never forget.

Maude Wines Tasting Room:В This is an incredible way to experience Central Otago wine. It's a family-owned winery and is based up above the Wanaka township. It's homely and intimate, and their pinot noir is to die for.

Edgewood Place: There is a host of great hotel options in Wanaka but we love to make ourselves at home, which is why we always stay in one of Release Wanaka's private homes.В

Apartments on Dungarvon:В These are stylish and sophisticated apartments right in the heart of the CBD and is also super close to the lakefront. Wanaka is all about making yourself at home, and these fresh, Scandi-inspired apartments are perfect for doing just that.

Eat & Drink

Cardrona Distillery:В We did a tour of the stored whisky barrels which was all time. We also had creative cocktails made by our own bar man Kenny. (Gin was the base for an apple pie dream and a wasabi cranberry thirst quencher.)В

The White House: This is a small family-run restaurant that's set in the sweetest 1930s Art Deco building and has an ever changing blackboard of a blend of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and New Zealand food.

Kika:В Kika is a tapas restaurant that was named in the New Zealand's top 100 list. ItВ focuses on quality, seasonal dishes. I highly recommend the lamb shank.В

Bistro Gentil: Here you'll find modern French cuisine showcasing Central Otago's finest ingredients from their very own kitchen garden. It was the perfect, intimate choice after a big day of skiing.

47 Frocks: This place is theВ go-to for New Zealand and international designers including Zambesi, Karen Walker, Miss Crabb, Sass & Bide, and Stolen Girlfriends Club. It's a fabulous little boutique with a great curated edit of homewares as well.

The Workroom:В This space is aВ boutique interior store and styling studio, The Workroom offersВ a range of homewares, childrenswear, and interior options to compliment any space or style. You can seriously get lost in here for hours.

Wilson & Dorset:В Here you'll find beautiful homewares offering made from New Zealand wool. Rugs, sheepskins, cushions and more, as they so perfectly say: "Wilson & Dorset gather what nature has designed so perfectly and simply reimagine it."
